Program Guide Addition This Year

Please be aware that there is an addition to the Program Guide this year regarding Artificial Intelligence.

New Rule added #28: The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology for any part of a team’s solution is considered Outside Assistance.

Q and A with Problem Captains

 There will be 2 sessions when coaches and team members can ask questions of the NoVA North/South Problem Captains at the Sully District Government Center (4900 Stonecroft Blvd, Chantilly)  Be sure to bring your problem statements and remember that the PCs cannot give outside assistance.

Saturday 12/2 — 9:30am-11:30 –Primary, Problems 2,3,5 (4 PCs taking questions)
                          11:30-12:45pm — Spontaneous practice with kits available to purchase for $25
Sunday 12/3  —1pm -2 Problem 1
                           2-4- Problem 4
Is your team confused about “Style” and how to incorporate the requirements into their long-term solution? A NovaNorth Board member is willing to meet with teams to explain the Style component and strategies for earning maximum points. Ask your school coordinator to email training@novanorth.org to arrange a session for your school’s teams.

Spontaneous Kits Are Available Again!

Spontaneous kits are available this year!  Each kit contains all the materials needed for 20 updated spontaneous problems to use with your team.  The cost is $25.00; they must be purchased in advance at https://www.novanorth.org/wp/?page_id=3548 .  A PayPal account is not needed; a credit or debit card can be used without logging in to PayPal.  Up to 5 kits may be purchased in a single transaction.

The kits will be available for pickup at the Coaches Q&A session on December 2 or by arrangement in the Reston/Herndon area.
