Parents of Odyssey of the Mind students play an important role in supporting their children’s teams. Parents serve as drivers, snack buyers, resources for learning new skills, and overall moral support. When it comes to solving the problem, however, parents have to sit on the sidelines and let their children do everything. All of the ideas and all of the work must be the team’s and theirs alone.
When it comes time for the Regional Tournament, parents can take on a more active role by serving as an Odyssey judge or volunteer. And no, you won’t be judging your child’s team!
